How to Update
Latest update: Version 3.1.0 with Global Privacy Control (GPC) support is now available!
You can update directly from the extension popup by clicking the "Update Now" button when an update is available!
Automatic Update Method
- When a notification appears in the extension popup, click the "Update Now" button
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the update page that opens
- The update will download automatically
- Replace your existing extension with the new version
Manual Update Method
- Download the latest version by clicking the button below.
- Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer.
- Open your browser's extension management page:
- Chrome: Menu → More Tools → Extensions
- Firefox: Menu → Add-ons and Themes
- Edge: Menu → Extensions
- Remove the existing Cookie Away extension (don't worry, your settings will be preserved).
- Install the new version:
- Chrome/Edge: Enable developer mode, then click "Load unpacked" and select the extracted folder.
- Firefox: Click the gear icon, select "Debug Add-ons", then "Load Temporary Add-on" and select the manifest.json file in the extracted folder.
Your preferences and site exceptions will be automatically migrated to the new version.
